Athletics add Tanner Roark to rotation in trade with Reds
The Oakland Athletics have acquired starting pitcher Tanner Roark from the Cincinnati Reds for minor league outfielder Jameson Hannah.
Roark's ERA has climbed from 3.36 to 4.24 over the past month-plus, but the Athletics are hoping he can provide a boost for the rotation as they make a push for the postseason. The 32-year-old right-hander is in the final year of his deal.
Roark is 6-7 in 21 starts this season. In addition to the 4.24 ERA, he's posted a 1.42 WHIP with 108 strikeouts and 38 walks over 110 1/3 innings.
