Ryan Lavarnway scratched from Reds lineup Friday, Tucker Barnhart takes over
Cincinnati Reds catcher/infielder Ryan Lavarnway has been removed from the lineup on Friday in the team's game against the Colorado Rockies.
Lavarnway was originally slated to bat eighth and start behind the plate against Rockies starter German Marquez, but he was removed less than three hours before first pitch. Now, Tucker Barnhart will man the dish and hit eighth.
In 16 plate appearances this season, Lavarnway has a .333 batting average and a 1242 OPS.
