Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes was sent down to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.
What It Means:
Barnes will spend some time in the minors after struggling to hit this season. Expect Will Smith to start at catcher with Russell Martin playing a backup role.
In 204 at-bats this season, Barnes produced a .196 average with 5 home runs and 23 RBI.
