Rockies promote Yonder Alonso from Albuquerque
The Colorado Rockies called up first baseman Yonder Alonso from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Alonso is available to make his Rockies debut off the bench Tuesday on the road against the Washington Nationals. He was released by the Chicago White Sox on July 3 after a rough first half, but slashed a robust .400/.519/.774 with 2 homers and 12 RBI in nine games with Triple-A Albuquerque.
Alonso hit a woeful .178/.275/.301 in 251 plate appearances for the White Sox this season.
