Royals release Wily Peralta
The Kansas City Royals released reliever Wily Peralta.
Peralta passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment by Kansas City on Saturday. The 30-year-old right-hander has blown 3 of 5 saves chances this season and his strikeout rate has slumped from 23.5% in 2018 to 13.6% in 2019.
Peralta owns a 5.80 ERA and 1.59 WHIP with 24 strikeouts and 19 walks over 40 1/3 innings (42 games).
