Nick Williams recalled, starting for Phillies versus Dodgers
The Philadelphia Phillies recalled outfielder Nick Williams from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
What It Means:
Jay Bruce is expected to miss a few weeks with a right oblique strain, so Williams has been tabbed to fill the void. He's starting in left field and batting seventh on Wednesday versus right-hander Kenta Maeda and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Williams has gone just 14-for-81 (.173) with 30 strikeouts for the Phillies this season.
