Rockies' Brendan Rodgers (shoulder) done for the season following surgery

Colorado Rockies infielder Brendan Rodgers (shoulder) underwent surgery to repair a tear in his right labrum and is done for the season.

What It Means:

Rodgers has been on the IL since June 25 with what was called a shoulder impingement. Obviously, the injury was worse than first indicated as the Rockies' top prospect is done for the season following surgery.

Rodgers finished the year batting .224 with 8 runs scored in 81 plate appearances this season.
