Diamondbacks place Taylor Clarke (back) on IL
The Arizona Diamondbacks placed starting pitcher Taylor Clarke on the injured list due to back inflammation.
What It Means:
The injury may have played a role in Clarke giving up 3 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks in just 3 2/3 innings on Tuesday. It's not clear how much time he will miss or who will replace him on the mound Sunday. The Diamondbacks recalled infielder Kevin Cron from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding roster move.
Clarke owns a 6.21 ERA and 1.57 WHIP with 32 strikeouts and 17 walks over 42 innings (10 starts).
