The Chicago Cubs are calling up infielder/outfielder Robel Garcia from Triple-A Iowa.
Garcia can play all over the field, so he provides plenty of utility for a Cubs team that has dropped six of their last eight games. The 26-year-old switch-hitter spent the 2014-2018 seasons playing in Italy. Dillon Maples was optioned to Iowa in a corresponding roster move.
Garcia slashed .285/.364/.594 with 21 home runs, 14 doubles, 58 RBI, and 48 runs scored in in 72 games this season between the Double-A and Triple-A levels.
