Rangers' Willie Calhoun doing pregame workouts at second

Texas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun has been doing pregame workouts at second base with infield coach Tony Beasley.

What It Means:

Calhoun primarily played second base in the Dodgers' minor league system to begin his career and saw some work there at the Triple-A level earlier this season, but he's strictly been in left field and at designated hitter in the bigs. The Rangers also want Calhoun to get some work in on the hot corner, so they may eventually give him a look in the infield in live games. That could mean less playing time for Rougned Odor in the second half of the season.

Calhoun is hitting .313/.352/.567 with 4 home runs, 5 doubles, 10 RBI, and 12 runs scored in 71 plate appearances (18 games) for the Rangers this season.
