New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (knee) is unlikely to return in July, general manager Brian Cashman said Thursday.
Stanton was initially considered day-to-day with a right knee sprain, but the injury is apparently more severe than previously thought. He's only played in nine games for the Yankees this season due to injuries.
Stanton is 9-for-31 (.290) with a homer, a double, 7 RBI, and 4 runs scored.
