New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (knee) will be placed on the 10-day injured list with a PCL strain.
Stanton was diagnosed with the strain despite manager Aaron Boone telling reporters that there was no new injury. The slugger just returned from a previous IL stint and is likely to miss at least a couple of weeks. Mike Tauchman is expected to be called up to replaced Stanton on the active roster.
Stanton has had just 38 plate appearances this season, hitting 1 homer with 7 RBI and a .290 batting average.
