Braves place Sean Newcomb on concussion IL
The Atlanta Braves placed pitcher Sean Newcomb on the 7-day concussion injured list, retroactive to June 18.
What It Means:
Newcomb took a line drive off the back of his dome while making a start Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Huascar Ynoa has been recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding roster move.
Newcomb owns a 2.38 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with 29 strikeouts and 12 walks over 34 innings (20 games, four starts).
