New York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (shoulder) hopes to start throwing from a mound on either June 25 or 26th.
Severino anticipates needing at least five bullpen sessions before moving on to a simulated game and an official minor league rehab assignment. The 25-year-old right-hander hasn't pitched all season due to a Grade 2 strain of his right lat and discomfort around his right shoulder.
Severino posted a 3.39 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 220 strikeouts and 46 walks across 191 1/3 innings last season while going 19-8 in 32 starts.
