Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Yandy Diaz is not starting in Monday's series opener versus right-hander Masahiro Tanaka and the New York Yankees.
Diaz extended his hitting streak to five games in Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Angels, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Joey Wendle is taking Diaz's place on the hot corner in Monday's divisional opener.
