Noah Syndergaard (strep) expects to start for Mets Saturday
New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard (illness) expects to make his scheduled start Saturday versus the St. Louis Cardinals.
Syndergaard was sent home sick Tuesday due to strep throat, but it sounds like he will be fine for Saturday's tilt. The 26-year-old right-hander has spun a 4.45 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with 88 strikeouts and 22 walks in 89 innings this season. He's 4-4 in 14 starts.
numberFire's models expect Syndergaard to record a 3.63 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 113 K and 29 BB over the remainder of the year.
