Kansas City Royals left fielder Alex Gordon (back) is out of the starting lineup for Thursday's series finale versus left-hander Matt Boyd and the Detroit Tigers.
Gordon is absent from Thursday's lineup after being hit by a pitch on Wednesday. Terrance Gore is starting in left field instead.
Gordon is slashing .274/.355/.477 with 10 home runs, 16 doubles, 39 RBI, 40 runs scored, and 4 steals through 274 plate appearances.
