Miami Marlins right-handed pitcher Jordan Yamamoto is making his major league debut on Wednesday versus the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Marlins promoted Yamamoto from Double-A Jacksonville on Wednesday. He's filling in for Jose Urena, who was placed on the injured list with a lower back strain in a corresponding roster move.
The 23-year-old righty spun a 3.58 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 64 strikeouts and 25 walks across 65 1/3 innings (12 starts) this season at the Double-A level.
