Brandon Belt scratched from Giants' Sunday lineup, Evan Longoria enters
San Francisco Giants infielder Brandon Belt has been removed from Sunday's lineup in the team's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Belt was originally listed as the starting first baseman, but in the Giants' new lineup, Pablo Sandoval is covering the bag. Evan Longoria will now replace Sandoval at third base, and they're hitting third and fourth in the order, respectively.
In 231 plate appearances this season, Belt has nine home runs, 27 RBI, a .249 batting average and an .845 OPS.
