Kansas City Royals catcher Martin Maldonado is not in the lineup on Saturday in the team's game against the Chicago White Sox.
Maldonado is being replaced behind the plate by Cam Gallagher against White Sox starter Lucas Giolito.
In 171 plate appearances this season, Maldonado has a .204 batting average and a .573 OPS.
