Kansas City Royals second baseman Nicky Lopez is starting in Tuesday's series opener versus left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez and the Boston Red Sox.
Lopez is back on second base and working out of the two-hole. Whit Merrifield is moving to right field, sending Terrance Gore to the bench.
