Pirates send Mitch Keller back to Triple-A
The Pittsburgh Pirates optioned starting pitcher Mitch Keller to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Keller was smacked for 6 earned runs on 7 hits with 2 walks over four innings in Monday's major league debut versus the Cincinnati Reds. The 23-year-old right-hander will likely get another shot in the Pirates' rotation this season.
Keller owns a 3.45 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with 56 punchouts and 20 walks over 47 innings (nine starts) at the Triple-A level this season.
