Rockies place Wade Davis on injured list with oblique strain

The Colorado Rockies placed Wade Davis on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain.

What It Means:

Davis hasn't pitched since May 14, but it's not clear how or when he suffered the injury. Rockies manager Bud Black told reporters that Scott Oberg will serve as the primary closer while Davis is out.

Davis has twirled a 2.45 ERA with 18 strikeouts over 14 2/3 innings. He has 7 saves in 17 appearances.
