The Chicago Cubs acquired utility infielder Brendan Ryan from the New York Yankees to complete an earlier trade.
Ryan was the player to be named later in the December 8 trade which sent Starlin Castro to the Yankees. The infielder has zero fantasy appeal but has a reputation as a defensive whiz who will likely stick on the team's 25-man roster.
Ryan batted just .229/.275/.333 over 103 plate appearances with the Yankees last season. He generated negative Ultimate Zone Rating (UZR) at second base, shortstop and third base in 2015
