Rangers' Elvis Andrus starting rehab stint Tuesday

Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Frisco.

What It Means:

It sounds like Andrus will be ready to return later this week when first eligible. He was placed on the 10-day injured list May 15 with a left hamstring strain.

Andrus was batting .325/.373/.510 with 6 homers, a triple, 9 doubles, 26 RBI, 25 runs scored, and 8 steals across 169 plate appearances before the injury.
