Toronto's Clayton Richard (knee) heading out on rehab assignment
Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Clayton Richard (knee) will make his season debut on Saturday and will head out for at least one rehab start in the minors.
Richard has yet to pitch this season following offseason knee surgery but is nearing a return. The Blue Jays are expected to go with a bullpen game on Saturday.
Richard posted a 5.33 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with 108 strikeouts in 158 2/3 innings pitched with the San Diego Padres last season.
