Minnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver has been diagnosed with a high left ankle sprain.
Garver suffered the injury in the eighth inning of Tuesday's win over the Los Angeles Angels on a play at home plate. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said more tests are scheduled for Wednesday, but this is looking like a lengthy absence. Jason Castro is starting at catcher in Wednesday afternoon's finale with the Angels.
Garver owns a .329/.418/.747 slash line with 9 home runs, 19 RBI, and 20 runs scored through 91 plate appearances this season.
