Rafael Soriano strikes out side in first minor league appearance
Newly-signed Cub Rafael Soriano pitched one scoreless inning Monday night for Double-A Tennessee, striking out three and allowing one hit in the inning.
Since he hasn't pitched this season, he will probably be in the minors until after the All-Star Break. After that, however, Soriano could be in line to become the Cubs closer. The veteran 35 year-old had a 3.19 ERA last season, so there's a good chance he still has some gas left in the tank.
