New York Yankees pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga is being shut down for 4 weeks after being diagnosed with a right rotator cuff strain, manager Aaron Boone said.
Loaisiga told the Yankees on Sunday his shoulder felt sore, prompting an MRI. Luis Cessa is making a spot start in Loaisiga's place on Monday against the Baltimore Orioles.
Loaisiga owns a 4.50 ERA and 1.50 WHIP with 13 strikeouts and 8 walks across 14 innings this season (four games, three starts).
