The Chicago Cubs placed second baseman/outfielder Ben Zobrist on the restricted list due to a personal matter.
What It Means:
Addison Russell was recalled from Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding roster move. It's not clear when Zobrist will return from his leave of absence. He only has one extra-base hit this season.
Zobrist is slashing .241/.343/.253 with 1 double, 10 RBI, and 12 runs scored in 99 plate appearances this season.
