Ervin Santana refuses minor league assignment with the White Sox, elects to become a free agent
Former White Sox pitcher Ervin Santana has elected to become a free agent.
What It Means:
Santana was designated for assignment on Friday and cleared waivers. He refused an assignment to Triple-A, so he is now a free agent.
He had a 9.45 ERA, and 1.88 WHIP with 5 strikeouts and 6 walks in 13 1/3 innings this season.
