Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Eric Thames is starting in Monday's series opener versus right-hander Jack Flaherty and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Thames is replacing Jesus Aguilar at first base and batting sixth. He socked a pinch-hit, game-tying 3-run homer in the top of the ninth inning of Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
