Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor (ankle, calf) has been cleared to begin a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus.
Lindor received the green light after working out with the Indians for three consecutive days. Manager Terry Francona indicated Lindor's rehab stint wouldn't last long, so the star shortstop could be ready to make his season debut by the end of the week. He's been out since February 6 due to a right calf strain and subsequent left ankle sprain.
numberFire's models expect Lindor to bat .285 with 29 home runs, 82 RBI, 99 runs scored, and 20 steals this season.
