Jordy Mercer lands on Tigers' injured list with quad injury
Detroit Tigers shortstop Jordy Mercer is on the 10-day injured list with a right quad strain.
What It Means:
Mercer suffered the injury during Saturday's loss to the Minnesota Twins. The Tigers called up Ronny Rodriguez from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding roster move. Gordon Beckham is starting at shortstop in place of Mercer on Sunday and batting eighth versus Twins right-hander Jose Berrios.
