Nick Swisher

Braves attempting to trade Nick Swisher

Atlanta Braves outfielder/first baseman Nick Swisher is being shopped, according to MLB.com's Mark Bowman.

What It Means:

This should come as no surprise since the Braves are in rebuilding mode, and they don't really have a place for Swisher to play. Bowman continues to say the Braves would likely have to cover a significant portion of the $15 million Swisher is owed in 2016.

Swisher had a -0.43 nERD this season, which ranked 294th, albeit in only 76 games played. He struggled mightily at the plate, slashing .196/.312/.320 with a .285 wOBA and six home runs. It will be difficult to find a trade partner, but maybe the Braves can point to the nine consecutive seasons Swisher hit 21 home runs or more from 2005-'13.
