San Diego Padres outfielder Franchy Cordero (elbow) was placed on the 10-day IL on Monday.
Cordero is dealing with a sprained ligament in his elbow and could be out a significant portion of the season if there is damage to the ligament. It is unclear the extent of the injury right now. Luis Urias was called up from Triple-A to take Cordero's place on the roster.
Cordero had batted .333 with 2 runs and 1 RBI in 20 plate appearances this season.
