Blue Jays' Justin Smoak (neck) scratched again Sunday

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Justin Smoak (neck) was scratched from Sunday's lineup versus the Cleveland Indians.

What It Means:

Smoak returned to action on Saturday after being scratched in the previous two games due to the neck issue, but he said hitting right-handed exacerbated the problem. Teoscar Hernandez is now set to play designated hitter in Smoak's place and bat fifth versus Indians righty Mike Clevinger after previously being scheduled for a day off. Billy McKinney is in left field while Socrates Brito is in right field and leading off for Sunday's series finale.

Smoak is 6-for-30 (.200) with a home run, a double, 4 RBI, and 3 runs scored through eight games.
