Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Corey Knebel will miss the entirety of the 2019 season due to Tommy John surgery.
Knebel had a UCL injury and was contemplating surgery or simply rehabilitation. He chose the former, and he'll now miss the season before he had a chance to begin. Josh Hader will now be the de facto closer.
In 55.3 innings last season, Knebel had a 3.58 ERA with 88 strikeouts, 22 walks and a 1.08 WHIP.
