Cubs sign starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks to 4-year extension
The Chicago Cubs and pitcher Kyle Hendricks have agreed to a four-year extension with a team option for 2024.
The extension is worth approximately $55M as it will buyout Hendricks' final arbitration season (2020). He will make $7.4M in 2019 before the extension kicks in next season. Hendricks has posted a 3.07 ERA and 52 wins in 132 starts for the Cubs.
Our models project Hendricks for a 3.54 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 159 strikeouts in 190 2/3 innings pitched in 2019.
