Angels sign Craig Gentry to one-year contract
Free agent outfield Craig Gentry has been signed to a one-year contract by the Los Angeles Angels.
Gentry was designated for assignment by the Athletics in late November, but the 31-year-old turned down the minors assignment and became a free agent after clearing waivers. Coming off a six-hit season through 56 plate appearance with the Oakland Athletics last season, Gentry figures to provide outfield depth for the Angels.
Gentry recorded a .120/.196/.200 slash last season. He finished with a .182 wOBA and -0.7 Wins Above Replacement. His nERD was -0.47.
