Hanley Ramirez expected to make Indians' roster

Cleveland Indians first baseman Hanley Ramirez is expected to make the Opening Day roster, manager Terry Francona said.

What It Means:

Francona added that the only way it would change is if the Indians added outside help before Opening Day. Ramirez was batting just .219/.265/.281 over 11 games in spring play before going 3-for-4 with 2 taters and 3 RBI this past Friday. The 35-year-old will likely work as the Indians' primary designated hitter.

numberFire's models expect Ramirez to bat .250 with 4 home runs, 17 RBI, 17 runs scored, and 2 steals across 142 plate appearances this season.
