Brad Miller signs with Indians

The Cleveland Indians signed infielder Brad Miller to a one-year contract.

What It Means:

Miller will fill in at second base while Jason Kipnis (calf) is on the shelf and likely transition into a utility role after that. The 29-year-old totaled 16 home runs and 69 RBI over the past two seasons after setting career-bests with 30 dingers and 81 RBI as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays in 2016.

Miller slashed .248/.311/.413 with 7 homers, 29 RBI, and 21 runs scored across 254 plate appearances between the Rays and Milwaukee Brewers last season.
