Indians' Jason Kipnis (calf) will not start season on active roster
Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis will be placed on the injured list after suffering a mild calf strain.
Kipnis will rest for at least seven to ten days before being re-examined. With injuries affecting the infield, expect the Indians to shop for a second basemen.
When Kipnis is able to return, our models project the Cleveland second basemen to hit .244 with 16 homeruns and 66 RBI in 561 plate appearances for the 2019 regular season.
