Dodgers' Corey Seager sails one deep in Cactus debut
Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager (elbow, hip) hit a home run Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs in his Cactus League debut.
Seager wasn't expected to see any Cactus League action, but he made a surprise start at shortstop and went yard off Cole Hamels in the top of the third inning. The 24-year-old is slated to play in all three of the Dodgers' exhibition games against the Los Angeles Angels next week. Following an injury-plagued 2018 campaign, there's no concern about Seager's Opening Day status.
numberFire's models project Seager for a .288 batting average with 22 home runs, 79 RBI, 88 runs scored, and 2 steals across 610 plate appearances this season.
