Matt Chapman cranks 3-run bomb, doubles in Athletics' loss
Oakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman went 2-for-5 with a 3-run home run and a double in a 9-7 loss to the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday morning in Japan.
Chapman went long in the bottom of the seventh to bring the Athletics within striking distance, but it proved to be the final scoring of the contest. He also doubled in the bottom of the third inning and found his way home on a Khris Davis homer. Coming off a breakout campaign where he hit .278 with 24 dingers, 68 RBI, and 100 runs scored, Chapman is off to a great start in 2019. He turns 26 at the end of April. The Athletics and Mariners will square off again in Japan on Thursday morning.
Chapman scored 34.9 FanDuel points in the loss. numberFire's models expect him to bat .264 with 25 taters, 73 RBI, 85 runs, and 1 steal across 575 plate appearances this season.
