Angels shut down Andrew Heaney due to elbow inflammation
Los Angeles Angels pitcher Andrew Heaney (elbow) has been shut down, leaving his status for Opening Day a question mark.
Heaney is suffering from elbow inflammation much as he did at the start of the 2018 season. An MRI showed no structural damage, but with the season two weeks away, Heaney is likely to start the year on the Injured List.
If healthy, our models have Heaney posting a 4.08 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 164 strikeouts in 169 2/3 innings pitched in 2019.
