Indians' prospect Triston McKenzie (back) sidelined 6 weeks
Cleveland Indians pitching prospect Triston McKenzie (back) is expected to miss about 6 weeks.
McKenzie was shut down over the weekend due to an upper back strain. It's the second season in a row he will get a late start after opening 2018 on the shelf due to right forearm tightness. Fortunately, the injury isn't expected to require the 21-year-old right-hander to go under the knife.
McKenzie recorded a 2.68 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 87 strikeouts and 28 walks across 90 2/3 innings at the Double-A level last season.
