Astros' Josh James (quad) throws bullpen session
Houston Astros starting pitcher Josh James (quad) threw a bullpen session Thursday morning.
The Astros are confident James will be cleared in time to make the Opening Day roster as a reliever. The 25-year-old right-hander was expected to win the fifth spot in the starting rotation before straining his right quad in a workout late last month.
numberFire's models expect James to record a 4.00 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 123 strikeouts across 103 2/3 innings in 2019.
