Dustin Pedroia (knee) singles, scores for Red Sox in spring debut
Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia (knee) singled and scored in the first inning of his spring debut Thursday against the Minnesota Twins.
Pedroia also cleanly fielded a grounder for the final out in the first inning. He was removed after the second frame. It was the 35-year-old's first game since May 29, as a knee injury sidelined Pedroia for all but three games last season. The Red Sox intend to expand the veteran's workload leading up to Opening Day.
numberFire's models expect Pedroia to bat .267 with 7 home runs, 40 RBI, 49 runs scored, and 1 steal across 400 plate appearances in 2019.
