Blake Snell to toe rubber for Rays on Opening Day
Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Blake Snell has officially been named the club's Opening Day starter by manager Kevin Cash.
As expected. Snell, the reigning American League Cy Young Award winner, led the majors with 21 wins last season while spinning a 1.89 ERA and punching out 221 batters over 180 2/3 innings. The left-hander celebrated his 26th birthday in December.
numberFire's models expect Snell to pick up 15 wins in 2019, while recording a 3.06 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 205 strikeouts across 170 2/3 innings.
